1 It’s simply the best. The first book is a good introduction to the world, but a bad introduction to Lindon. The second book is a bit slow in parts and then suddenly too fast in others, but does a good job breaking that old Lindon. Book 3 is where he becomes the person we love, book 5 solidifies it and is a great source of growth, and then I tore through the rest of them as fast as I could. Story: 5/5 - Great large-scale story, utterly amazing foreshadowing, and 4 of my 5 “top ten moments” in the progfan genre are in this series. Characters: 4.5/5 - Lindon, Yerin, and Eithan are awesome strong leads. You grow to love the other leads fairly quickly, as well. But some characters get sidelined just a bit too much. Just a hair. But Fisher Gesha, Naru Gwe (I’m an audiobook listener I’m sorry if these are all wrong), Jai Long and Chen, etc. Progression Elements: 5/5 - Quick but reasonable, no cheat powers until they’re earned much later, almost never too rushed and almost always earned, either through hard work or through character work. Writing: No notes! Good, well written writing. It’s not poetic and flowery and it’s way better written than the “Dragonball but a book” might suggest at first glance. Completed Cradle

3 Ongoing Beware of Chicken
